Houxo Que /ホウコォキュウ（a.k.a.Questa）



東京を拠点に活動する画家。10代でグラフィティと出会い、壁画中心の制作活動を始める。作品の制作過程をショーとして見せるライブペイントも数多く実施。現在は、蛍光塗料とブラックライトを使用し1枚の絵に2つの顔を持たせるアンビバレントな手法を駆使した”Day and Night”と呼ばれるシリーズを追求。都会の片隅に咲く花を主な主題とし、そこに街のネオンや星空のイメージを融合させて独自の世界を創り出している。

Questa is a painter who currently resides in Tokyo. When he was a teenager he first encountered graffiti art and started rocking the walls since then.

He has done lots of live-painting shows that demonstrate the process of making an art. Currently he is working on this art series called “Day and Night”. For this series he uses fluorescent paint and black lights to produce two different faces out of one painting.

His main motive is flowers in the city alleys. He integrates the flowers with the image of neon signs and a starlit sky and that makes his art unique.
